Stealth is built on a steel chassis, with aluminium bodywork. The rear wheels are 18", the rear right driven by the 24 volt motor by which our car is powered. It holds two 12 volt batteries, one in the 'boot' at the back, and one under the drivers legs, accessible through the bonnet during pit-stops. The car has driven a total of over 300 miles, competing in 8 races in total. Stealth is a heavily modified version of the original 'Wolgarston Wanderer'. It is currently ranked 55th in the country in the Formula 24 category. Above: Stealth as it is today Stealth is now no longer eligible to race in Formula 24 due to its large rear wheels, which are now banned in new 2008 regulations. The car recieved special dispensation to race in 2007 although it can no longer race in its current state. We are now looking at building a new car for the 2008 season, and modifying Stealth to be used as a training car. Below: Stealth minus bodywork |
